Polish Stew

1 lb. Polish sausage cut in 1/2" pieces
3 tbsp oil
2 onions sliced
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
1 lb sauerkraut, canned
1 cup dry red wine
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
2 bay leaves whole
salt & pepper to taste

Saute sausage 15 minutes; place in casserole. Add oil to sausage drippings in frying pan and brown beef in oil 15 minutes.  Place in casserole. Saute onions; add to casserole. Saute mushrooms with sauerkraut , bay leaves and wine. Add tomato sauce, soy sauce, caraway seeds and garlic powder. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add this to casserole; mix well. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Stir casserole every 30 minutes. Serves 8.
